Sanctuary

Sanctuary

Sanctuary, and the photographs overlaid with printed perpex laser cut with lace-like grilles, rendered close to invisible, examine architectures of fear and insecurity and the contested public space. The photographs are of abandoned communal spaces, partly concealed through the building of new fencing. Perception depends on the viewers position, between absolute visibility of the space or absolute perception of the boundary.
